Hanuman Jayanti is usually celebrated on the full moon day of Chaitra month, which falls in the months of March or April. The festival lasts for 41 days and is also known as Andhra. In Tamil Nadu, it is known as Hanumath Jayanthi, while in Karnataka, it is known as Shukla Paksha Trayodashi or Hanuman Vratam.
Follow these steps to perform Hanuman Jayanti 2023 Puja:
- Begin by waking up early in the morning and remembering Lord Rama, Sita, and Hanuman.
- Take a bath and wear clean clothes.
- Place an idol or picture of Lord Hanuman facing the east direction.
- Light your whole house with mustard oil and chant “Om Shree Hanumate Namah“.
- Offer puja items like mustard oil, coconut, and betel leaf.
- Apply sindoor to Lord Hanuman.
- Offer imarti for good wishes.
- Chant the mantra “Om Shree Ramdut Hanumate Namah” while offering sandalwood paste.
- Offer flowers like jasmine and dhatura while chanting the mantra “Om Shree Ramdut Hanumate Namah.”
